“The people who know God well—mystics, hermits, prayerful people, those who risk everything to find God—always meet a lover, not a dictator.”
Richard Rohr, Everything Belongs: The Gift of Contemplative Prayer

Today, I pray that we meet the Beloved in each individual that we encounter. The one in the mirror and the one across the aisle; the one with the weapon and the one shot; the one who guides, and the one who follows. I pray that we each take a moment to decide to love and commit ourselves to this path with faith and always, with hope. Even if we do not see results in terms of outcome, our own hearts are changed. We may not change the other individual but in loving them, we become our best self. We become the Beloved and that is enough.

I hope that in this moment, we remember that we are connected and we are joined through and in love itself. It doesn’t matter what you call that connection and the Source of it; it only matters that we remember It.

“Dear Beloved,” we say to each other.

My Dear Beloved, I say to you. You matter and your thoughts matter. I send you much peace and love and my wish that you be at peace.

I wish this for you and for all beings, without exception.

Now and always.Untitled drawing
